10 Trends from Fashion Month that You Can Wear Now

Summer fashion

I’ve got a pretty good idea of what our closets will look like in the coming seasons, since the latest runways had some totally wearable trends that I’m sure all of us can’t wait to try! They’re bringing classics back, so you’ll want to dig back into your 90s wardrobe as we speak. Short suiting, co-ordinated looks, sweet prints and flashy finishes will shape our (or at least my) racks.

1. Striped Sequined Top from LOLOten

Sequins. We’ll be seeing sequined accessories again this season. We’re not talking about look-at-me, all-over sparkles, but subtler ways of mixing them into everyday looks. The effortless shimmer in this striped sweatshirt shines even better in the sunshine, so start wearing it with jeans by day!

2. Sandals with Sequined Heart from chuu

Ditto on sequins. If I don’t wear these cute heart sandals on a night out, I don’t feel like it’s party night. Wear with a black mini dress for these kicks to shine. They would look trendy and playful with jeans as well. Accessorize minimally, if at all.

3. Utilitarian Jumpsuit from DDADDADDA

This is a typical case of “everything old is always new again” in the world of fashion. The jumpsuit is getting a utilitarian and boyish twist this season, taking cues from the classic flight suit. I’d dip my toes into the trend with this all-black one-piece by pairing it with a slick pochette and ankle boots for the new season.

4. Lavender Shirtdress from DABAGIRL

Millennial pink may still be the shade of now, but shades of soft lavender are lining up to take over the big color trend. Next time I gravitate towards dark or neutral clothes in the morning, this sweet shirtdress will convince me not to! I’d go all out by mixing two vibrant colors and adding sweet pink heels to it.

5. Mutton-Sleeve Pullover with Floral Embroidery from LEELIN

Florals have proven their staying power as a timeless favorite. For a more subdued take on the trend, this sweatshirt will become my weekend go-to in the new season. The pink-on-pink style is a chic monochrome piece to go with blue jeans.

6. High-Waist Belted Dress Shorts from chuu

Waist-cinching high-rises are in. They effectively elongate and give everything a sleeker finish. The nostalgic silhouette becomes more well-tailored this season. These polish shorts work for a number of occasions – simply jazz them up with a sophisticated blouse and pretty brogues.

7. Tweed Jacket with Fringes from Chlo.D.Mano

Show-stopping fringes are everywhere these days, from outerwear to fashion accessories like bustiers and bags. This fringed tweed jacket is exactly the next-level layer I’m adding to my shopping list. I’d pair it with a plain tee, high-waist jeans and loafers for brunch.

8. Plaid Blazer and Skirt Matching Set from GUMZZI

Plaid is undeniably versatile and enjoying its moment this season. This matching set revamps the classic print in a chic, modern silhouette and dashing colors. Wearing the print head-to-toe results in a contemporary look.

9. Tweed Short Suit with Contrasting Details from DABAGIRL

Short suits are one of the season’s biggest trends, and they come with an attitude that’s more street-style chic than short-and-sweet. I’ve personally fallen in love with the prints and proportions of this blazer-and-shorts set!

10. Color-Block Open-Front Cardigan from ode’

Remember color-blocking? It’s been gone for so long but now it’s finally coming back to center stage. This time it’s all about mixing together contrasting shades in unexpected ways. When I can’t decide what color to wear in the morning, this slick cardigan will save me some time.
