Watch Dutch F-35 low-flying in ‘Beast Mode’

A Dutch Air Force unit based in California was captured on camera taking part in tests as part of their participation in the F-35 stealth jet program, producing some striking, up-close footage.

Photographer Frank Crebas was on scene late last month snapping photos and capturing video of the low-level flyovers.

“Last week I had the privilege to capture the jets in all of their awesomeness in both the wild and at Sunrise at Edwards AFB. In the coming week newspaper ‘de Telegraaf’ will bring the story of the progress of the Dutch involvement in the F-35 OT&E. Stay tuned,” Crebas wrote on social media.

Here’s the video:

“In ‘Beast Mode,’ exploiting the internal weapon bays, the F-35 can carry 2x AIM-9X (pylons), 2x AIM-120 AMRAAM (internal bomb bay) and 4x GBU-31 2,000-lb (pylons) and 2x GBU-31  PGMs (internal bay),” according to the website, The Aviationist. The image from Lockheed Martin below shows some details of the configuration.
